I hope here to share some thoughts on this recent election, if you don't mind, in hopes that this may be of service and provide some perspective for those of us searching for some kind of understanding of what just happened. Many of us are confused, angry and deeply saddened. It is hard to understand, hard to accept, hard to fathom.
I believe that this is all unfolding for reasons greater than our comprehension and that it is necessary for our evolution as souls on this planet. That even though there may be some scary, unhappy outcomes in the short term, it is important for us finally to come to terms with the dark side of our culture and decide if we want to continue on this track that has been failing so many. Bringing all of the "hidden" aspects to light. Beginning to accept that what we believed was once true about those in power may not actually be the case. We have created this. And now we must continue onward to create the kind of society we want to pass along to our great-grandchildren.
As we all know, things are not always what they seem. Those who seemed be so intolerant may simply have just felt left behind. And those who seemed so tolerant are now showing some intolerance. It is possible that there has been much deception at many levels in our government. Even though we may reject what this election was rooted in, this "shaking up" may be what we actually (bear with me here for a second) need in our country - to allow a broken governmental system, in our country and worldwide, to crumble (as it may under our President-elect), and then to be rebuilt. And I believe that this is much needed.
We may see some unsavory results in the immediate future that go against our core values, but I believe that this is happening as a giant spiritual "wake up call" for us as Americans. It is the Tower card in Tarot as part of our shift to a higher consciousness. A cataclysmic event meant to deliver a shock to the system. Or maybe it's a crisis. And what usually happens in crises? People come together and support each other. Mobilize. Speak up. Stand for justice and truth.
So maybe we can do more of that. But please.. please.. always rooted in love. Love, all you need is love. Yes, our anger is real. Fear is real. And these feelings need to be experienced for a moment. But ultimately these emotions will not bring about what we want. From an energetic/vibrational perspective, when we come from a negative emotional state, we actually bring about more negative circumstances into our realities. So let's do the opposite for a change (remember the definition of insanity?). Let's allow fear and anger to be channeled into positive action. Into creating what we want as opposed to what we don't want. The tired, old rhetoric of fighting against something hasn't worked so well for us. What are we building towards? What kind of society do we actually crave? How do we want to be? Do we want to love our fellow neighbor (regardless of their political views) or do we want to reject them? Do we want to take proactive action, in each and every decision that we make, to heal our planet, or do we want to continue to fuel our unnecessary desire for bigger, better, faster?
The message has been delivered and received that the old way is not working for many Americans. And we know that most of our neighbors do not truly live with hate in their hearts. Maybe they were just so desperate for a change that they chose whatever person who appeared and spoke of a change to lead them. Whether or not that leader will actually do that is yet to be seen. But change is needed, and his election has awakened many to that absolute necessity. But this change happened to us. Just like any event that occurs beyond our control and beyond our comprehension in our lives. The broken system has been failing us for so long... we have been living in thousands of years in a system that wants to convince us that we are not the brilliant, luminous beings that we are (with the institution of public school, in the soulless corporation, with unhealthy food that destroys our bodies, with junk entertainment that keeps us from understanding the truth). And they also do this by trying to get us to fight with each other, using issues like racism and sexism (yes, these are real but not as pervasive as we might think) to keep us divided and distracted with what they do behind the scenes.
Those leading that broken system so desperately want to stay in power that they often will do almost anything to keep it that way, and to keep the populace asleep. And boy have we been asleep, for years and years. It is a shocking realization when we understand that those who we thought had our best interests at heart may actually not. But we must look beneath the veil and connect the dots. Thankfully, this shift in consciousness is already happening and we are guided and supported. I believe that there are forces of love and good that are supporting us in our lives, and in our evolution, and that these forces had a hand in this shocking event. Hard to believe, yes, it is.
November 8, 2016 has awakened us. We are facing what we have allowed to fester. Now we have a choice to stand up. To boldly speak up for our rights to a creative, holistic education for our children that includes ample time outdoors, and is rooted in the exploration in arts, music and foreign language - not simply hours of homework and teaching to tests. To demand flexible, family-friendly workplaces that allow us to be with our children when we need to and work from home when necessary to nurture our health and wellbeing - not rigid cubicle-lands that force employees to toil until stress, disease and absence from their families breaks their souls. To advocate for healthy, nourishing, chemical-free foods coming directly from farmers - not processed, poisonous food that will slowly kill us over time. To heal ourselves with holistic, natural methods of healing our bodies - not from synthetic chemicals in drugs that often make us even sicker. To use our consumer power and buy only products from companies that treat humans, animals and the planet with compassion - not from corporations that are behind most governments and are abusing the earth, mistreating workers, disrespecting animals and are essentially at the root of the exact problem we're in now - all in pursuit of more money and power.
But we, the citizens, the people, we have the power. We are more powerful as a mass consciousness connected to a universal Divine source, we have more capacity to change our future than we could have ever imagined. As a collective whole and as consumers. Each and every small decision that we make matters - from what kind of shampoo we use to what kind of water we drink. And we can change our realities in this way. But we must start using our power and we must start acknowledging our core inner spiritual selves. This will guide us.
And above all else, we can to approach this from a place of love. Love will guide the way. Asking ourselves at each moment, "How can I best be of service? How can I best assist others?" And coming back to a loving, high vibration with a beautiful Hawaiian prayer, Hoʻoponopono:
I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.
Now is a time, in my humble opinion, for trusting our deepest part of ourselves to see us through. The glowing essence within our souls that connects us to each other, to the Earth, and to the Divine. If we don't know what to do or say, we ask our hearts, our higher selves/the Divine, for guidance and then we will know.
I will do my best personally to do this, and I hope that you may join me.
In peace, love and goodwill,
