Virtual Connections and Evolution

Dear friends, In recent weeks I have had come to a new realization.   For a long time, I had resisted and shunned technology, only using it when I had to for work and to communicate by email. However, I've come to understand that the INTERNET has transformed the world by connecting people in ways that were never possible before.

Did you ever think about how that fact could assist you in your life's work, in your career, or in a business you are developing (or want to develop)?  If you have an idea or a skill that can truly help others change their lives for the better, it's time to share that widely!  Whether you have a farm where you can teach others about what you're growing, if you have an idea about alternative medical healing, or you have skills in teaching cooking about raw food, you can make this into your day job by posting webinars, videos and more to share with the world. Yes, YOU!

There is a revolution starting... you may be seeing it in the media playing out for good and for less-than-good, but it is happening.  Don't you want to be a part of that but in your own way with your own particular dream?  For we each have dreams that have always been within us... You know that yearning/inclination you have always had to do whatever-that-thing-is, or the childhood dream that you once had?  Well, that's your soul speaking to you... and over the years you may have either been told or been led to believe that it wasn't possible for you (the limiting beliefs and voice of an inner critic that exist in all of us).

What if your inner critic were ready to retire?  What if your true self is ready to emerge?  Imagine the possibilities.  I am rooting for you.

The Outer Limits of the Human Spirit

What makes some of us push ourselves to the utmost point?  What makes some of us want to climb to the top of that mountain reaching the cold and windy skies, win a painful and grueling race, or walk across hot, burning coals with our bare skin?  We want to test ourselves?  To prove our worth to ourselves or others?  Maybe.  Or is it just innate?  Some people push themselves more than others. Some people push themselves too much maybe.  Some people refuse to give up, while others give up quite easily. I think we can all benefit from a guide here on earth to help us along our path, since too often we give up in the face of difficulty.  But not all of us.  How many of you know someone who overcame seemingly insurmountable odds as a child to reach great personal success later in life?  You may see that their siblings may not have fared so well.. but these people had some fire deep within them that burned brightly, that told them to believe that they were capable of more than just what they saw around them.  Did they have a guide coaxing them along ?  Maybe - it can take that one positive mentor to change a life.

I'd like to believe that we are all capable of doing great things.  I think that some of us just have stronger inner critic voices that limit us more than others.  Some of us listen to that voice more, while others learn to ignore it.  On the flip side, there can be that voice that propels us forward, that encourages us to test our outer limits.

I have listened to that voice as times - it has pushed me to what I never believed my body could do (in sprint races and then in childbirth).  I firmly believe that this had only marginal relevance to the physical condition and fitness of my body, but more to do with my inner will and drive. Yes, over time that inner will has dwindled a bit (that's what lack of sleep will do to you - my current excuse is having 2 kids under 5).  But I am refusing to let that inner critic run my life anymore and tell me that "only other people" can do some of the things professionally in my career that I always thought I could never do.

Luck can play a role, sure.  Or, is it actually luck or just that when we align with what our higher self has always wanted us to do, that the universe actually starts to help us accomplish what we set down as our wildest and greatest dreams?  The help is there if we ask for it, and we just need to listen to it when it is given.

The Green Papers That Run our Lives

I just finished a contemplation on my views of money. I acknowledge that I have some limiting beliefs about money, as many of us do.  I have tended to avoid money in recent weeks in developing my business, but as in everything, the universe has given put some new information about money and abundance in my worldview for a reason.

My grandfather once told me several years before he passed away.. "Don't forget this:  money controls everything."  I was shocked and sad to hear that.. but I have come to acknowledge its truth.  So many people spend so much time working to make money, which provides basic things like food, clothing, housing, child care.  However, I believe that he was speaking about our modern society and how we have simply let money control us.  Our entire lives.. so many of us feel like we do not have a choice in it all and are essentially slaves to money.  We have to work to make money, we can't go there because of money, we have to buy this not that because of money.  We are limiting ourselves like crazy due to these limiting (but totally normal!) beliefs.  But money is an exchange of something we value.  So let's start there.. thinking about what we value and how much we value it. As with this all... it comes down to how it makes us FEEL.  We value what makes us feel GOOD.  Okay.  With that, we can start to see that.. there IS another way.  It will take some effort to get there though.. we will need to shift our mindset and subconscious, deep-seated beliefs to do so... I haven't quite figured out how to do it all myself yet, but I feel it coming. A new way of doing things, another way of being.  To find happiness and freedom, because isn't that what we all want as humans?

Kate Northrup talks about creating passive or residual income... creating something (inventing something, writing a book, making a CD, buying real estate, etc) that we only do ONCE and then make the profits from over and over. Then you are free to go to the gym, read, bake bread, do yoga, or do whatever all day long!  What holds many of us back from achieving this is our belief that WE can't do this thing.  Or we spend our valuable time on things that don't get us to where we want.  There are people (not just celebrities but people like you and me) out there, around us here, who have done just this - created freedom and time by learning, spending their time strategically, and acting decisively.  For we can spend lots of time visualizing but of course, we need to ACT on that to achieve our hopes and dreams. And you can too.

So don't worry.  You can have a lot of money and still be a good person make a difference in the world - by putting your money in places that will help change the world (Bill Gates is doing just this) - you aren't just hoarding it.  You will be in the flow that the universe wants you to be in!

In abundance and gratitude,

Rachel
