The Secrets of our Soul: Personal Mythmaking and the Tarot

Secrets of our Souls workshop (2).png

A vital relationship exists between the personal myth we each live and the collective myth, or sacred story, all of humanity shares. Accessing the universal archetypes, motifs, and timeless pattern of the hero/heroine’s journey, made popular by Joseph Campbell, and understanding these from the perspective of the parallel path of the Tarot, allows us to identify those connections we share with all others.

The Tarot has been used for centuries as a way to connect with the Divine. With archetypal images, numbers and symbols, the cards give detailed information about the forces influencing a person’s life, and the likely outcomes resulting from certain course of action. Comprised of the Major Arcana, which show us our soul lessons on our path to spiritual awareness and understanding, and the Minor Arcana, which tell of our daily decisions and activities, the Tarot is an incredible tool to get information about what is happening in your life right now, and suggested steps to take to reach a place of greater fulfillment and purpose.

In this workshop, utilizing a timeless blueprint, guided exercises, worksheets, discussion, and guided meditation, participants will delve into the deeper, universal levels of their life experiences, focusing on the call to adventure, the road of trials, and the return, or the primary phases of the mythic journey, and discover how these correspond to the Major Arcana cards of the Tarot. Participants will learn how to decipher the pattern of transformation in their lives and how to live in both the physical and spiritual world at the same time, with a consciousness of oneness.

In this day-long workshop, we will explore our soul journey and transformation, as it applies to what we are currently experiencing in our life through:

- Exploring the hero/heroine’s journey
- Diving deep into our subconscious soul journey with guided meditations
- Discussing in pairs and small groups our personal experience as it pertains to each stage in the journey of our lives
- Learning about the Major and Minor Arcana of the Tarot, and how the cards relate to our soul evolution and lessons being learned in the present
