If you’re anything like the average human in the modern world, you probably go through your days with chatter in your head of what you feel you "should" be doing… mulling over the past or thinking about the future. Some of us are in constant stress over money/our job/our country or doubting ourselves and our own gut feelings. It gets exhausting but many of us don't know how to make it stop.
You may have tried meditation in the past but haven’t been able to stick with it. Maybe it seems too overwhelming or too difficult to prioritize. Or maybe you think it doesn’t work for you.
Instead of setting yourself up to just try something else that you feel bad about not completing, what if you were to change your approach completely?
Our brains are wired automatically to look for the worst-case scenario, for some reason. But, the good news is that, through meditation, we can consciously teach our brains to notice and appreciate the present moment, which brightens our outlook on life and can improve every other aspect of our lives (it has done that for mine at least!).
This free online class, called How to Meditate Easily and Joyfully, will help you approach meditation in a completely new way, and learn how life-changing the practice of “quieting the mind” actually is.
In this workshop, you will:
Learn about how quieting the mind on a regular basis can actually change your brain, creating gray matter that once was not there.
Understand how to calm the “fight or flight” mechanism (the amygdala) in our brains that often triggers us into stress, anger, fear or panic mode.
Uncover how meditation can help you create new, positive thoughts in your everyday life.
Find motivation to start a daily, short meditation practice (even just 5 minutes!) to ignite a new life of peace, contentment and joy for you.
Do you feel like you’re still too busy to quiet your mind or even learn about it? Well, then, this is going to be that much more impactful for you! It is when we feel the most stressed, busy and overwhelmed that taking a few moments of stillness and breathing can completely change our perspective and make everything seem okay (because it is!).
The workshop’s format will look something like this:
a short talk and teachings from me on meditation in everyday, busy lives
a guided meditation
a plan on how to begin a short, easy practice of meditation in our lives
introduction to a new course on how to ingrain meditation as a daily habit in your life!
time for any questions you have of me
You will also leave with some new worksheets I only share with clients with tips on breath work, short meditations and creating new thoughts!
Wednesday, March 27th, 7-8 pm EST on Zoom videoconference software. Please register in advance here link for log-in details.
See you in the workshop!
